Open the sky, intelligently.
The skylight is architecture’s most direct connection to the sky — a source of daylight, fresh air, and spatial drama. Vermat Electric Skylight Series elevates this connection with intelligent automation and precision engineering. Designed for flat and sloped roof applications, each unit integrates a high-performance insulated glass panel with a robust, weather-tight aluminium frame and a concealed electric drive system. Whether opening to release warm air, closing automatically at the first drop of rain, or tilting to a precise angle for natural ventilation, the skylight responds to conditions, schedules, and user commands with quiet certainty.
From private residences seeking a flood of natural light to commercial atriums requiring passive ventilation strategies, Vermat electric skylights deliver an elegant balance of form and function. The slim frame profile maximizes glazing area, while advanced gaskets, thermal breaks, and drainage channels ensure long-term weather tightness and energy efficiency. With options for tinted, Low-E, laminated, or smart switchable glass, and integration into KNX, DALI, or BMS platforms, the skylight becomes a seamless part of the intelligent building envelope.

Key Features & Customization
Intelligent Electric Drive
The concealed motor drive operates a precision chain or spindle mechanism, smoothly opening, closing, and tilting the vent to any desired angle. The drive is engineered for over 20,000 cycles, with soft-start and soft-stop algorithms that prevent mechanical shock and extend service life. Manual override is included as standard for emergency operation and maintenance access.
Automated Climate Response
Integrated rain, wind, and temperature sensors enable fully autonomous operation. Rain sensors close the skylight within seconds of first moisture contact; wind sensors retract it during gusts; temperature and humidity sensors trigger night purging or daytime ventilation based on preset thresholds. Occupants always retain manual priority via wall panel, remote, or app.
Superior Weather Performance
Multi-lip EPDM gaskets, welded corner joints, and an integral drainage channel system provide water tightness up to Class 9A (EN 12208) and air permeability to Class 4 (EN 12207). The frame is fabricated from thermally broken aluminium with optional stainless steel cladding, engineered to withstand driving rain, snow loads, and high wind pressures without deflection or leakage.
Thermal Efficiency
The skylight frame features multi-chamber polyamide thermal breaks and warm-edge glass spacers, achieving U-values as low as 1.2 W/(㎡·K) for the total unit. The inner frame surface remains above dew point under normal conditions, preventing condensation and water damage to interior finishes.
Glass Options & Solar Control
Choose from clear, low-iron, tinted, Low-E, laminated safety, or switchable PDLC glass to balance daylight, glare, solar heat gain, and privacy. Optional integrated blinds or fritted patterns provide additional solar control without compromising the view to the sky. All glass options are compatible with the electric opening mechanism.
Smart Building Integration
Native support for KNX, DALI-2, BACnet, and dry contact inputs allows the skylight to join the building’s automation network. Group control, scene settings, and time schedules can be managed through a central BMS or mobile application. Integration with fire alarm systems enables automatic venting for smoke and heat exhaust in emergency scenarios.
Bespoke Sizes & Configurations
Vermat fabricates each skylight to the exact roof opening, in rectangular, square, or custom trapezoidal shapes. Frame finishes include anodized aluminium, powder-coated RAL colours, and PVD stainless steel. Multi-unit configurations — linear ridges, grids, or atrium clusters — are engineered with synchronized drive systems for architectural coherence.
